Fears And Phobias

Everyone is afraid of something or many things. Some fears are overcome simply by reasoning a way through or around that which is feared. However, sometimes these fears can become limiting or even debilitating. Very severe and often irrational fears are classified as phobias. A phobia is a form of anxiety disorder characterized by an intense and irrational fear of an object or situation that poses little or no actual danger.

Phobias have interesting names and origins. Agoraphobia means literally the fear of the marketplace. In modern terms, someone who is agoraphobic finds it difficult if not impossible to go out in public. As another example, fear of flying in an airplane does not have a fancy name, it is still a very common phobia. Other common fears and phobias include fear of heights, public speaking, spiders, snakes or small spaces (claustrophobia).

Just as these fears can limit your life, conquering them can open up your life, making you free to experience and enjoy activities that your phobia has caused you to avoid. Hypnotherapy can be the key to finding that freedom. Through training your subconscious to recognize what you fear and redirect that fear into the understanding of the problem, you can overcome that which has limited you.
